Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology Inaugurates 20 km of Al-Aflaj Road in the Wilayat of Al-Mudhaibi

The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology inaugurated today, Wednesday, a 20-kilometre stretch of the Al-Aflaj Road in the Wilayat of Al-Mudhaibi, located in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate. The road begins at the junction with the Sinaw–Al-Mudhaibi Road and ends at the village of Al-Aflaj.

The project involved the design and construction of a single carriageway road with two traffic lanes, each 3.5 metres wide, along with 1.5-metre-wide asphalt shoulders on both sides. It also included the construction of box culverts across small and large wadis, in addition to equipping the road with all necessary traffic safety features such as road markings, directional signs, metal guardrails, and reflective road studs.

The remaining 600 metres of the road are expected to be completed in the coming months. The completion of the road is anticipated to enhance commercial activity between areas in the Wilayats of Sinaw and Al-Mudhaibi.
