These experiments have achieved varying degrees of success, with most exceeding 90% in activating and implementing artificial intelligence aspects to enhance the efficiency of government operations in economic and developmental sectors.
 
 The Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology believes in strengthening the role of the private sector in project implementation, leading to participation from various institutions, including:
  1. Mohsin Haider Darwish Company focused on using computer vision technologies to recognize vehicles and link them with data. They employed vision technology to inspect food items, such as rice, to detect adulteration. They also successfully used vision technology to calculate quantities of incoming and transported food items, along with temperature and humidity sensors and system alerts to maintain the quality of stored goods.
  2. Schlumberger Oman successfully employed artificial intelligence techniques in early 2023 to digitize paper and scanned data, converting it into scheduled digital data. This facilitated better connectivity among data, providing a comprehensive overview of all transportation projects. Notably, the experience included photographic files from previously executed projects in Nizwa. The initiative exceeded expectations by presenting data in an organized manner, allowing stakeholders to access all project details, thus facilitating improvements and maintenance while keeping a record of all roads.
  3. Netways Oman successfully utilized generative artificial intelligence using data from the National Centre for Statistics and Information’s data portal to design a chatbot for user inquiries. This initiative received positive feedback from stakeholders at the national center, highlighting the potential for developing the portal and enhancing public interaction with statistical services through chatbot technologies.
  4. TecKnow for Consultancy uniquely adopted generative artificial intelligence linked to WhatsApp, facilitating information retrieval from the electronic government services portal. The application integrates with the services offered by the portal, enabling the public to access information through conversations on WhatsApp.
  5. EnterprisesBarne from India effectively employed generative artificial intelligence to serve the public via automated conversations. This initiative directed the chatbot to pull required data from the Omanuna portal, presenting it to users in an easily accessible manner, instead of relying on traditional web browsing.
  6. Inmaa Information Technology implemented an experiment using generative artificial intelligence on the Omanuna portal, directing the chatbot to extract required information from the available data. The company designed a unique application to serve the public, making it easy for users to install the progra
  7. Oman Lens, which has contributed to enhancing food security and self-sufficiency in the Sultanate of Oman, ensuring appropriate integration between agricultural management and resource management with the development of the economy, while seeking to protect lands suitable for agricultural development and coastal waters suitable for fisheries.
  8. Al-Hadara Digital Solutions and Investment Company, which contributed to developing a prototype of an AI-based platform to digitally transform land management. The project includes integrated stages, and aims to improve the accuracy and effectiveness of land management by integrating aerial reconnaissance technologies with artificial intelligence.
  9. Skyla Company The Ministry of Transport and Communications has experimented with using artificial intelligence technologies in the “Skyla Monitoring and Analysis System in Service Halls and Public Places” to support public safety and security initiatives, improve the efficiency of service provision, and meet citizens’ needs. The system provides a range of advanced services that make it a useful tool for institutions, most notably: providing accurate statistics on the number of visitors, which helps institutions determine peak times and allocate resources more effectively, identifying the most crowded areas and highlighting “hot spots,” which contributes to improving operations and enhancing customer experience, in addition to detecting gathering areas and resolving friction points, and providing a rapid response in emergency situations, which enhances public safety. These advanced services contribute to providing institutions with effective tools to improve planning and operation and focus on improving user experience, which positively reflects on business results.
