It is designed to be accessible under various weather conditions and aims to improve traffic safety through the installation of concrete and metal barriers, road studs, road markings, and informative and warning signs. Additionally, it plays a key role in supporting economic, tourism, commercial, and social development.
It is worth mentioning that Sultan Said bin Taimour Road is considered the longest dual carriageway in the Sultanate of Oman, with a total length of approximately 857 kilometers. The Ministry has awarded the implementation of the remaining three sections of the road to specialized companies in an Omani-Saudi partnership.
